Land Of The Lost! -Yes the old Saturday morning show about dinosaurs and cave people and lizard people. Land of the Lost began as an exceptional show. The first season is arguably the finest from any children's science fiction series. The special effects were very good (even real dirt on cave floors); the 200- word Pakuni language also gave realism to the show. Most notable, however, were the sense of real danger (the Marshalls acknowledged their hostile natural environment, as well as the risks of experimenting with the unknown around them) and the intelligent plots that often dealt with complex moral issues. The combination of an adequate budget, very good writing and excellent directing established Land of the Lost as first-class science fiction show for both children and adults.

PHANTASM! - Writing and directing one film that becomes a classic is an accomplishment to which most filmmakers aspire, but Don Coscarelli has done it twice.
